Welcome to Yoga Bliss!

We would like to welcome you to our beautiful studio and look forward to sharing with you the life transforming practice of yoga.

Remember that yoga is NOT a religion, but rather a state of being...a true Mind / Body / Soul connection to God, leading to a balanced life, which is bliss.

FAQs

Q. Is Yoga Religion?

A. Yoga is NOT religion. It is your natural state of being in which you are in connection with the spirit of God within you.

Q. What is "OM"

A. Is the universal sound of God. In the beginning was the word and the word was God.

Q. Will I get a good workout?

A. Yes you will be working as hard as you like and you will be lifting your own body weight. In one class you can burn between 500-800 calories. For a weight loss program, you will need to commit to practice 3-4 times per week.

Q. I am not flexible, can I still practice yoga?

A. It is our job to teach you to be flexible, so this is not an excuse!

Q: What if I can’t do particular poses during a class?

A. Our teachers are well trained and experienced in assisting students with modifications. If you are not ready for a particular posture, we suggest that you rest or do another pose that feels better for you. Always listen to your body and what feels right. Remember that everyday our bodies are different and depending on what time of the day you practice will also make a difference.

Q: Can I practice yoga even if I’m over 50?

A. Yoga can be practiced at any age. In fact, yoga is particularly beneficial for people 30+years old when the regeneration power of the body is declining and resistance to illness is weakened. Yoga generates energy, as opposed to using it. Unlike other exercise, yoga creates a concentration of immunity cells in areas that are prone to disease, thus improving the function of your immune system. This is why doctors are now beginning to prescribe yoga to aid or cure ailments. It is a restorative and preventative science.

Q: Can yoga help me manage stress, anxiety and depression?

A. Yoga is an ancient mind/body practice that cultivates mental clarity, heightens self-awareness, promotes physical and mental calm, and overall improves your well-being. It is a holistic approach that has been utilized for years to elevate mood, inspire joy and free us from unnecessary suffering.
